Wängle

Wangle is a municipality with 852 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Reutte in Tirol ( Austria ).

Location

Wängle is located west of Reutte at the foot of the ski and hiking area Reutte Hahnenkamm Tannheimer mountains. It is one of the oldest settlements in Außerfern. The scattered village is largely grown together with the surrounding hamlets. The village Hinterbichl is a need in the municipality of Lechaschau exclave of the municipality.

History

Wangle was first documented in 1278. It has long been the parish center of the communities of the Western Lech page.

2007/2008, the Code of 6600 to 6610 has been changed. Wangle is the first municipality in the Reutte basin with its own zip code.

Coat of arms

Blazon: Azure, a sharing on a silver horse on a green sign foot horseback schwarzgewandeter St. Martin, a red coat with the sword.

The coat of arms granted in 1976 depicts the patron and recalls the importance of church as a former center of the region.

2005 Skispeed World Cup was held in the ski resort of the cable car.

Economy and infrastructure

Wängle is located on the sunny side of the Reutte holiday region in a quiet location. Many hiking and Nordic walking trails lead at the edge of the basin along or across walkways to the hiking area of the Hahnenkamm.

Alpine huts: Gehrenalpe, Lechaschauer Alpe, Schneetalalm, Höfener Alm, Cillyhütte (in winter: Cillyhütte and Singerhütte ).
