WarmÄ…towice

Warmątowice ( German Warmuntowitz ) is a town in Poland in the community Strzelce ( United Strehlitz ). It now belongs to the powiat Strzelecki in the Opole Voivodeship and is located in the historical region of Upper Silesia.

Geography

Neighboring towns of Warmątowice in the West Strzelce ( United Strehlitz ), in the north and in the east Centawa Błotnica Strzelecka ( Blottnitz ).

History

The town was first mentioned in 1300 as " Warmunthowitz ".

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia in 1921 voted 68 inhabitants for Germany and 92 for Poland, voted on Good Warmuntowitz 32 for Germany and 45 for Poland - Warmuntowitz remained in the Weimar Republic. 1933 lived in Warmuntowitz 499 inhabitants. On 3 July 1936, the place in Lower OS rocks was renamed. 1939 lived in Lower stones 503 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Great Strehlitz.

In 1945, it was under Polish administration and renamed Warmątowice. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to re-founded powiat Strzelecki.
