Wasef Bakhtari

Wasef Bakhtari (* 1942 in Balkh, Afghanistan) is an Afghan intellectuals and poets.

He studied Persian literature at Kabul University and Education at Columbia University in the United States and worked as a professor of literature at the University of Kabul. Wasef Bakhtari is in the literary tradition of Rahi Moayeri, Amiri Firuskuhi and Ahmad Schamlou.

1996 found Bakhtari and his wife on their flight from the Taliban Sorija first refuge in Pakistan. However, after their influence grew stronger there, he managed the couple to flee with the help of the World Relief Organization and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to the USA, where they currently live in New Port Richey in Florida.
