Water polo at the 1928 Summer Olympics

In the IX. 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam was held a competition in water polo. Venue was the Olympic Sports Park.

The twelve participating teams clashed in a knockout tournament, with the U.S. and Germany in the first round had a bye. After the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Olympic champion was determined in the final. Finally, there were still three games to determine the winner of the bronze medal. Here, the semi-final losers in another knockout round had to compete with those teams who had lost to the eventual Olympic champion.
