The Watt Lizum ( also popularly Wattener Lizum ) denotes the eastern end of the valley of the Wattentals which branches off from the Lower Inn Valley at Wattens. Lizum means in Tyrolean, pasture area at the end of the valley ', the Watt Lizum is located in the municipality of Wattenberg.
Truppenübungsplatz Lizum - Walchen
The military training area Lizum - Walchen is more than 50 km ², the second largest military training camp in Austria after the military training area Allentsteig. It covers the area of the Wadden Lizum and west neighboring Mölstals. He reports to the Austrian army, serving a year up to 40,000 soldiers to military alpine training. Development

Touristic development
The Watt Lizum is the starting point for hiking and skiing trips with relatively gentle, but some avalanche-prone slopes in the mountain rim. The area is ideal because of its large number of runs ( depending on snow conditions ) and peaks as well as the existing infrastructure (civil and military ) throughout the year for outstanding professional alpine training. In military exercises, the area is sometimes somewhat limited walkable. On shooting days of hikers must checkpoints happens to 8:45 clock and leaving restricted areas.
In the Lizum in Watten is the 2006/ 07 of Haller Alpine Club Totally refurbished Lizumer hut (2019 m). The Alpine Club hut is located at the intersection of international long walking routes: Via Alpina, Eagle, Traumpfad Munich - Venice, Olympiaweg Garmisch -Innsbruck- Cortina, Zentralalpenweg 02A, Glungezer & Vulture road 315
Neighboring huts are the Glungezerhütte (8 hours), the Tuxerjochhaus and Weiden hut.
Summit Fair
Traditionally, a summit Fair will take place after the Assumption on Mölsberg on the first Sunday. This is normally celebrated on the summit cross at 11:30 clock, in bad weather, however, already at 11.00 clock in the Christ the King Chapel in the Lizum. On this day, the otherwise closed to private automobile traffic Truppenübungsplatz Lizum for cars with Tyrolean flag ( on designated trails only multi-track vehicles, not quad ) is open until 10:30 clock.
