We're Here Because We're Here is the eighth studio album by the British band Anathema. It was published on Kscope on May 31, 2010. It is the first studio album in six -year break, not counting the acoustic album Hindsight of 2008.
Formation and style
We're Here Because We're Here was produced by Vincent and Danny Cavanagh himself and mixed by Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree. It is completely recorded in Dolby 5.1, this version is available as an additional DVD of the special edition. Main lead instrument is now the piano, not like on previous albums the guitar. Reception
The album reached number 50 on the charts in Germany, in Greece it came down to sixth place. Alexey Eremenko of Allmusic awarded four out of five stars. He wrote that the band have apparently evolved " right" direction in which after the long break.
