Weißbach (Roda)

The Weissbach is a left tributary of the Roda in Thuringia.

Course

It rises near Rose Village and continues to flow in the area of the side valleys through the towns and village Karl Weissenbach and flows Lippersdorf in the roda. In its catchment area is a part of the valleys villages.

Origin of the name

The name is derived from the Old High German hwiz or the Middle High German wiz (white). As with all color names so that must not be meant the color of water. More likely is the color of the surrounding landscape or the Bach reason. A definite statement in this regard is not to hit.
