Weissenbach an der Triesting is a market town with 1734 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) on the river Triesting in the southern Vienna Woods, Lower Austria.

One of the most famous mountains in Weissenbach is the Peilstein, where there is also a climbing school of the Austrian Alpine Club.

First Schwarzensee is mentioned with the construction of Giles Chapel in 1146. But Neuhaus is mentioned already in 1251 in connection with the local castle Neuhaus ( Niwenhaus ).

Along the Triesting arise in the Middle Ages mills and forges. The earliest documented mill is being built by Conrad Arberg 1360.
