Wellington Silva (footballer born 1993)

Wellington Alves da Silva (born 6 January 1993 Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian football player who is under contract at Arsenal since 2011.

Association

Wellington Silva played until 2004 when Brazilian club Portuguesa from Rio de Janeiro. In 2004 he moved to Fluminense and remained there until 2010 in the youth department, until he was pulled into the first team. After Arsenal then watched the 16 -year-old at the U -17 South American Championship soccer 2009 that London took him on 1 January 2010 for a transfer fee of 3.5 million pounds sterling contract, but Wellington Silva was allowed only after 18 years continental change. His professional debut for Fluminense he denied on May 9 in the 0-1 defeat against Ceará SC, when he came on in the 80th minute for Júlio César. He had a second operation a week later in a 1-0 home win over Atlético Goianiense, in which he came into the game in the 87th minute. On 19 August 2010, he completed his first unofficial game in the reserve team against the reserve of Manchester United, where he even succeeded in the 51st minute of the 2-1 victory. Even for the pros, he was in a friendly against Dagenham & Redbridge in use, where he played 70 minutes, scored two goals and a third presented.

On 10 December 2010, Arsenal announced that Silva would first loaned to a European club in January 2011, as he gets a work permit in England until January. On 12 January 2011 he was awarded by the end of the season at the Spanish club Levante UD. He made his debut on January 29 against Getafe when he came on in the 88th minute for Valmiro Lopes Rocha. Despite his great talent he showed in the four months at Levante an unprofessional attitude, he eats pizza and spend hours at the computer in the Twitter social network instead of going to the gym. This would not be common in the Spanish league. After two league games, he returned at the end of the season to London.

But on July 10, Wellington Silva was again awarded to Levante, but in December 2011 he returned without a single league use. On January 10, 2012 Alcoyano on loan at Spanish second division side CD. Already in his debut match, he scored after coming off the bench shortly before the end of the important 2:2 equalizer against UD Almería. At the end of the season he could boast 16 league games and two goals.

On August 15, 2012, he was loaned for one season to SD Ponferradina. Although he completed a single game from the beginning, he played at least 20 league games in which he scored three goals.

National

Silva played for the Brazilian U-17 national team and completed two matches in the U-17 World Cup in 2009 against Mexico and Japan.
