Westerwald Lakes

The Westerwald Lake lie on the same Westerwald Lake in the Westerwald within the city quadrangle Hachenburg, Westerburg, Montabaur and Dierdorf ( Rhineland -Palatinate).

Geography

The Westerwald Lake propagates as undulating plateau between the heads of the mountain Hachenburger forest in the north to the valley of the Saynbaches in the south. History

All seven ponds are man-made. In their present form they were created in the 17th century. They were initially all fish farming. The three-field pond group with each other through channels in combination, as well as the Freilingen group.
