The company Westphalian -Larsen, headquartered in Bergen was founded in 1905 by Hans Peter Westphalian -Larsen as a shipping company. The first ship was the bereederte Hardanger. Westphalian -Larsen developed in due course to the largest shipping company in Bergen and the second largest in Norway.

Today's divisions are shipping, real estate, trade, technology and finance projects. The main business is the operation of chemical and product tankers through its subsidiary Western chart in Bergen and operation of open multi -purpose bulk carriers by the daughter Masterbulk in Singapore.
