Westminster is a city in Orange County in the U.S. state of California with 89 701 inhabitants ( 2010). The geographic coordinates are: 33.75 ° N, 117.99 ° West. The metropolitan area has a size of 26.2 km ². Westminster is a suburb of Los Angeles, has grown together seamlessly with its conurbation Westminster.

The city was founded in 1870 by the Presbyterian Reverend Lemuel Webber. Today Westminster is known for its high proportion of Asian immigrants, particularly from Vietnam. With Tri Ta Westminster has the first elected mayor of Vietnamese in the United States.
