The waters Wiedey, more commonly under the name Wiedey - river, will be an orographic right tributary of the oil stream in North Rhine -Westphalia, Germany with a length of 8.3 km.

River course

The Wiedey - river built to the east of the Gütersloh hamlet on the Spexard located next to the connection point to the A 2 site of arvato AG. The water flows from the southwest direction and then carries out south through the meadows of the Spexarder settlement area. After crossing the main highway 2, the Wiedey - river flows through the nature reserve Spexard. Characteristics

When Wiedey - river is a typical lowland stream of Emssandebene with a low average bed slope of only 1.3 ‰ and a correspondingly lower flow rate. As the river bed has been expanded in some areas for meadow drainage, however, a rather grave -like character is predominant in these sections. Etymology

The name of the water body, probably derived from the Low German word " Wide" ( pasture ), though is after the official directory waters officially " Wiedey " in regional parlance use with the suffix " river ", however, is much more widespread. A formerly -used name for the body of water is Flürt, which has been preserved to this day in the name of Spexarder road " to Flürt ".
