Wilfried Wesemael

Wilfried Wesemael ( born January 31, 1950 in Aalst, Belgium ) is a former Belgian cyclist.

In 1973, he turned professional at the Belgian road cycling team Hertekamp. However, even before he moved to the road, Wesemael celebrated major successes as an amateur in track cycling. So it was in 1971 and 1972 Belgian Champion in the Team Pursuit, 1972 in the individual pursuit and 1973 Omnium and Madison. His biggest success Wesemael 1979 with a lead of 4:43 minutes on Rudy Pevenage as he was able to win the Tour de Suisse. In 1982, he finished his career.
