Neighboring communities

The three districts have a centuries-long, very different story. Willanzheim was from 1628 to 1803 in the possession of the cathedral chapter of Würzburg. The family had of being home in the Middle Ages possession in the market and in Herrnsheim Hüttenheim. The German Order had from 1213 to 1680 a branch in Hüttenheim, which belonged to the Bailiwick of Franconia. In 1803 and finally in 1814 the territory of today's community came to the Kingdom of Bavaria.

On May 1, 1978, the municipal reform of the self-employed since 1818 municipalities market Herrnsheim, Hüttenheim and Willanzheim was formed in the wake of the market Willanzheim. Due to the market law of Herrnsheim the new church received the title of the market.

The cottage Heimer fortified church is one of the largest preserved Gaden fortified churches in Franconia.
