Willem Marinus Dudok

Willem Marinus Dudok ( born July 6, 1884 in Amsterdam, † April 6, 1974 in Hilversum ) was a Dutch architect. His most famous buildings are the municipal theater in Utrecht, the city hall and the main building of blast furnaces ( Koninklijke Hoogovens ) in Velsen and around 75 buildings that form the entire cityscape of Hilversum. There Dudok was from 1915 to 1927 director of public utilities, then until his retirement in 1954, the city architect.

In his style he initially processed influences of H. P. Berlage and the damage of him the Amsterdam School, later by Frank Lloyd Wright. Dudok is one of the influential architects in the Netherlands.
