Willi Reinfrank

Willi pure Frank (* May 30, 1903 in Mannheim, † 1943 near Stalingrad ) was a German weightlifter.

Career

Willi pure Frank grew up in Mannheim and turned as a teenager to the heavy athletics. He ran Rasenkraftsport, wrestling and weightlifting. With 17 years he devoted himself entirely to the weight lifting. In 1922, he was able to place first in the German championships among the winners. 1924, when the Germans were still excluded from the Olympics, he was in Neunkirchen ( Saar) European champion at lightweight. With the performance it achieved it would be in Paris also become Olympic champion. From 1925 to 1927 no international championships were held, so that Frank could Willi clean again until 1928 participate in such activity, at a time when he had already passed the zenith of its power. In 1931, he ended his career as a weightlifter.

Willi pure Frank was a trained mechanic who had worked his way up to the auctioneer. In January 1943, he fell at Stalingrad.
