William H. Flack

William Henry Flack ( born March 22, 1861 in Franklin Falls, New York, † February 2nd 1907 in Malone, New York ) was an American politician. Between 1903 and 1907 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William Henry Flack was born about three weeks before the outbreak of the Civil War in Franklin County. He attended public schools. He then worked as a lumberjack and Gerber. He spent seven years as Supervisor in the Town of Waverly and two years as chairman of the committee. In 1897 he was County Clerk in Franklin County. A re- election to the office followed in 1900. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party. Between 1898 and 1902 he was the chair of the Republican County Committee. He served as a Trustee in the Village of Malone and in 1902 was elected President of the Village.

In the congressional elections of 1902 for the 58th Congress Flack was in the 26th electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of John Wilbur Dwight on March 4, 1903. He was once again elected, but died before the end of his term on February 2, 1907 in Malone. His body was then buried at Morningside Cemetery.
