William Henry Whitbread

William Henry Whitbread ( born January 4, 1795June 21, 1867 in Southill ) was a British politician.

Life

William Henry Whitbread was the eldest son of Samuel Whitbread and his wife Elizabeth (nee Grey ). He grew up with a younger brother, Samuel Charles Whitbread, and two sister. He was related to the Earls Grey by his mother.

William Henry Whitbread attended Eton College, and subsequently Trinity College, University of Cambridge. From 1818 to 1834 he represented the constituency of Bedford in the House of Commons. In the past, his father and his grandfather had already represented this constituency in the House of Commons. In 1819 he was active as a partner in the brewery founded by her grandfather and his brother. From 1837 to 1838 he held the office of High Sheriff of Bedfordshire.

On June 10, 1819 he married Judith Pigott († June 25, 1845 ). After her death he married on November 6, 1845 Harriet Sneyd. Both marriages were childless. His shares in the brewery he bequeathed to his nephew Samuel Whitbread.
