William IV, Duke of Jülich-Berg

William of Jülich- Berg ( January 9, 1455 *, † September 6, 1511 ) was when William III. Duke of Berg and as William IV Duke of Jülich and Count of Ravens mountain.

Life

William was the son of the Duke Gerhard von Jülich -Berg and Sophie of Saxe- Lauenburg. After the death of his father in 1475, he joined to his successors.

He married in 1472 Countess Elisabeth of Nassau -Saarbrücken, daughter of John of Nassau- Saarbrücken. William died in 1511, with him ended the house Jülich. He is buried last Bergischer ruler in Altenberg Cathedral. He was succeeded by his son John, who in 1521 also inherited Cleves - Mark.
