William Poduska

John William Poduska (c. 1938) is an American computer scientist and entrepreneur.

Poduska studied at Rice University ( Bachelor's degree ) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Electrical Engineering where he in 1960 his bachelor's and master's degree and received his doctorate in 1962 and was Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering.

1972 He was founder and Vice President of Research and Development of Prime Computer. Previously, he was in the minicomputer division of Honeywell. He was President, CEO and Chairman, Apollo Computer, which he co-founded in 1980. 1985-1989 he was Founder, Chairman and CEO of Stellar Computer. 1991 to 2000 he was Chairman of Advanced Visual Systems (AVS ) ( now part of Muse Technologies) and he was Chairman from 1989 to 1991 President of Star Dent Inc. He was a partner and Chief Technology Officer of Mindstorm Technologies. In 2000 he was co-founder and vice president for research and development of Anystream Inc. (later grave Networks).

He also appeared in various other hardware and software companies in supervisory positions ( as at Novell ).

Since 2011 he has been Vice President of Software Engineering at Green bytes. He is also an independent consultant.

In 1988 he received the W. Wallace McDowell Award. He received the MIT Corporate Leadership and Distinguished Industrial Achievement Award and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
