Winthrop Palmer

Winthrop Hale "Ding " Palmer Jr. ( born December 5, 1906 in Summit, New Jersey; † February 4, 1970 in Madison, Connecticut ) was an American professional ice hockey player.

Career

Winthrop Palmer attended Yale University, for their hockey team, he was active from 1927 to 1930. Then he played amateur hockey for the St. Nicholas Hockey Club. He settled after his hockey career in Connecticut and worked as a stockbroker. In 1973, he was posthumously honored with induction into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.

Internationally

For the U.S., Palmer participated in the 1932 Olympics in part in Lake Placid, where he won the silver medal with his team. At the World Championships 1933 he won the gold medal with the United States.
