WirelessHD

WirelessHD is the name for the specification of a wireless transmission of high-resolution images. WirelessHD 1.0 [ WiHD ] transmits in the 60 GHz frequency range and can theoretically transmit uncompressed high-definition HD content over distances of up to ten meters with four gigabits per second.

The specification has been released in version 1.0 in January 2008 by the WirelessHD Consortium. Members of this consortium include Sony, LG, Matsushita (Panasonic), NEC, Samsung, LTD, SiBEAM, Toshiba, and more recently, the chip maker Intel.
