Witte Automotive is a company flaps for closure, handle and hinge systems for car doors and seats.

History

Witte was founded in 1899 for the production of luggage locks from Ewald Witte. After the Second World War, the family, locks and hardware began to manufacture for the automotive industry.

In addition to its headquarters in Velbert with the sales, research and development and assembly is Witte Nejdek, spol. s R.O. in the Czech Republic, another big part of Witte Automotive. The site in Nejdek was founded in 1992 and includes both the field of assembly and a development department. At Witte Automotive include an additional three companies. Witte Niederberghaus (previously Fingscheidt Automotive) in Velbert and Wülfrath, is the partner for stamped products and die-cast zinc, as well as for components with high quality finishes, Witte Bitburg (previously Riku; Bitburg ) supplies plastic components and Witte Stromberg (formerly Prince Witte; Stromberg ) developed and produced hinges.

By 1999 founded and in February 2006 Advanced Vehicle Access Systems Technology ( VAST ) with the American company Strattec Security Corporation in Milwaukee, and ADAC Automotive in Grand Rapids, Witte extended the begun in 1993 global activities associated with their joint venture in Brazil, China, Japan and Korea were expanded.

Also in 2009, a new location of Witte Automotive was founded in the Bulgarian city of Ruse. In May 2010, production of vehicle components was recorded in Russian. Due to the positive development Witte has decided to expand production capacity at Ruse. After the beginning of 2013, land was purchased, laid the foundation stone for the new production hall was held in the presence of the Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev on 11 October 2013.
