Władysław Pasikowski

Władysław Pasikowski ( born June 14, 1959 in Łódź, Poland) is a Polish film director and screenwriter.

Life

Pasikowski studied Cultural Studies at the University of Łódź and directing at the School of Art. With his debut film Kroll in 1991 he won the debut prize at the Polish Film Festival Gdynia as well as the Special Jury Prize. His next two films Psy and Psy 2 were to the audience and box office successes and secured him a reputation as experts in action movies. Even as a novelist came out Pasikowski. His science fiction novel Yes, Gelerth was nominated in 1993 for the Polish science-fiction literature prize Janusz A. Zajdel price.

The outside Poland's best-known film on which he worked was, Katyn ( Katyń ) from the year 2007. In 2012 he showed at the Polish Film Festival Gdynia the movie Pokłosie in which the active anti-Semitism of the Polish population in the period of German occupation is discussed. At the ceremony of Marburg Camera Price in 2014 to his friend cinematographer Pawel Edelman, with whom he collaborated frequently, he gave the eulogy in the auditorium of the University of Marburg.
