Woodford tube station

Woodford is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Redbridge. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 4 on the Snakes Lane. In the year 2011 there were 4.89 million passengers these from the Central Line station.

Was opened the station on August 22, 1856 by the Eastern Counties Railway ( ECR), as part of the newly built route from Stratford to Loughton, which was nine years later extended to Ongar. 1862 was the ECR in the Great Eastern Railway on, which in turn 1923 into the London and North Eastern Railway.

After a few structural alterations, including the repeal of the same-level railway crossing on the Snakes Lane, sailed on December 14, 1947 the first subway trains on the Central line the route. For eleven months was here last stop and passengers towards Epping had to steam locomotives drawn shuttle trains change. Finally, the north then stretch to the metro network was connected on 21 November 1948 as the branch line towards Hainault.
