Buckhurst Hill tube station

Buckhurst Hill is an aboveground station London Underground in Travelcard Zone 5 and is one of 14 outside of Greater London. It is located on Victoria Road in the town of Buckhurst Hill, Epping Forest District in the county of Essex. In the year 2011 there were 1.85 million passengers these from the Central Line station.

The station was opened on August 22, 1856 by the Eastern Counties Railway ( ECR), as part of the newly built route between Stratford and Loughton, which was nine years later extended to Ongar. 1862 was the ECR on the Great Eastern Railway (GER ), which the station building was added in 1892 new build. 1923, the GER was taken over by the London and North Eastern Railway. After some structural adjustments sailed on November 21, 1948 for the first time Metro trains on the Central line the route. The station building has preserved the atmosphere of the late Victorian era to the present.
