Prohibitions

She had recognized the reality of a Kurdish issue as the first party and this added to their party program. Therefore, the tip was banned July 20, 1971 by the Constitutional Court. After its foundation in 1976 she could no longer mobilize its old base and reached in the elections in 1977, only 0.14 percent of the vote. After the military coup of 12 September 1980, the TIP was banned again and therefore looked further underground. Many leading cadres found asylum in Europe and continued their political work from there on.

In 1988 the TIP united with the Communist Party of Turkey ( TKP ) for the United Communist Party of Turkey ( TBKP ).
