World crystal

The Kristall is a model of the universe in which the fact is exploited that crystals with defects the same internal geometry have as non-Euclidean spaces, in particular spaces with curvature and torsion, which are used in the Einstein - Cartan theory of gravitation (which Einstein theory includes ). The model is also called Planck - Kleinert crystal. In recent times, it is also used by G. ' t Hooft (Nobel Prize 1999) discussed ( see below).

The model is meant to illustrate that the world can look very different at ultra- short distances of the order of the Planck length, as adopted by string theorists. Be expected in string theories of a fundamental length of the order of the Planck length and the elementary particles, including the graviton are modes of vibration of the strings produced in the world crystal model of matter at the microscopic level curvature defects and reproduced by the results of the general theory of relativity, in which known to be the energy -momentum tensor of matter, the geometrical spacetime curvature determined.
