Wuzhen pian

The Wuzhen pian (Chinese悟真 篇, Pinyin Wuzhen Pian, W.-G. p'ien Wu -chen, english Folios on Awakening to Reality / Perfection / On Awakening to Transcendental Reality, On the comprehension of reality / essay on the awakening to truth ') is a fundamental for the later Southern School of Quanzhen Daoism Daoist works from the year 1075, in which the doctrine of Neidan - inner Alchemy and the interior elixir - is presented.

Its author, Zhang Boduan (张伯 端, Chang Po - tuan; 984-1082 ), was a Chinese Daoist scholar and the Three teachings ( Confucianism, Daoism and Buddhism (Chan ); Chinese sanjiao yili三 教 一 理) in the period of northern Song Dynasty, and one of the five patriarchs of the South ( Nan wu ) of the Quanzhen school of Taoism. One of the Eight Immortals - Lu Dongbin - should be been one of the first, who turned exclusively Inner Alchemy, of syphilis student Liu Zhang Boduan Haichan should in turn have received his knowledge.

In contrast to the Daoist school of the north, the seclusion and celibacy advocated sees the Wuzhen pian no need for seclusion. Also, the method of the exterior elixir / Alchemy (外 丹waidan ) rejects it. It transfers the expression of the outer alchemy on the inner transformations.

The text consists of 100 chapters in verse. He has commented frequently, only the Daoist canon contains twelve comments and subcomments.
