The WWF / WWE Hardcore Championship ( to German WWF / WWE Hardcore Championship) was a hardcore wrestling title wrestling promotion World Wrestling Entertainment, formerly the World Wrestling Federation.

History

The title was introduced on November 2, 1998 in order to satisfy the desire of the WWF fans for tougher matches. The first title winner was Mankind, the (1998 King Of The Ring ) was given the title by Vince McMahon for his crashes at "Hell in a Cell Match" against the Undertaker. In 2000, the WWE introduced a 24/7 - a rule. This rule stated that the title holder very often had to defend his title and he could be pinned at any time, as long as a referee is. Because of this rule, there were many title changes, and outside for the next matches. In August 2002, the then General Manager of RAW Eric Bischoff announced the end of the 24 /7 - rule. On 26 August 2002, the title in a hardcore match association between Rob Van Dam, the former WWE Intercontinental champion and Tommy Dreamer, the former winner of the WWE Hardcore Title, united for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The WWE Hardcore title was thus set. Through the so-called 24/7 - usually there were a total of 51 champions, which together were able to post 234 title wins. The most successful Hardcore Champion Raven was 27 regencies. The only women who have ever held the title, even if only for a few seconds, were Trish Stratus, Terri Runnells and Molly Holly. As in Wrestling common practice was the award after a predetermined storyline.
