Yamaguchi Prefecture

The Yamaguchi Prefecture (Japanese山口 県, Yamaguchi-ken ) is a prefecture in Japan. It is located in the Chūgoku region on the island of Honshu. My office is located in Yamaguchi.

The most important city in Yamaguchi Prefecture is not their small capital but the industrial port of Shimonoseki, which is connected by a tunnel, a bridge and a ferry to the island of Kyushu.

History

The Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1871 in the wake of the abolition of the Han, the fiefs of the feudal period, from the former fief Chōshū and Yamaguchi, Tokuyama, Iwakuni, Chōfu and Kiyosue that for a short time in four prefectures ( Yamaguchi Iwakuni, Toyoura, Kiyosue ) were reorganized and then fused. The prefecture so that covers the territory of the ancient provinces of Nagato and Suo. The prefectural government has been established in the present city of Yamaguchi.

1889 originated in the modernization of municipal orders in Yamaguchi Prefecture, a county-level city ( in present-day Shimonoseki Akamagaseki ), four kreisangehorige cities ( Yanaitsu in today Yanai, Yamaguchi Hagi and Iwakuni ) and over 200 village communities.

In the gubernatorial election in February 2014, the former central government officials Tsugumasa Muraoka was elected LDP Kōmeitō support to succeed Governor Shigetarō Yamamoto, who resigned for health reasons.

In Parliament, the LDP defended in the elections in April 2011, with 27 of the 49 seats, an absolute majority. However, the LDP deputies distribute along with some of the nine Independent on two fractions. Democratic Party and Kōmeitō won in the 2011 elections five seats, the CPY two and the Social Democratic Party.

Yamaguchi is how much of the Chugoku region a " conservative kingdom" ( Hoshu Okuku ), a stronghold of the LDP. In the national parliament Yamaguchi is represented by four directly elected members in the House of Representatives. In the Senate the prefecture elects one representative each choice.

  • Constituency 4: Shinzō Abe (LDP ), LDP-Vorsitzender/Premierminister and grandson of Nobusuke Kishi
  • 2016 Kiyoshi Ejima (LDP, and elected at a by-election in April 2013), former mayor of Shimonoseki
  • Yoshimasa Hayashi (LDP ), former Defense and current Minister of Agriculture

Yamaguchi is the home of the family of politicians Kishi Abe Satō, in the old suffrage for the House of Representatives of the post-war period until 1996 representing members of the Abe - branch of the family in viermandatigen first constituency Yamaguchi the western part of the prefecture, Sato and Kishi the fünfmandatigen second constituency in eastern part. Famous Products

From the Yamaguchi Prefecture Hagi ceramic, which is characterized by a bright Craqueleglasur with an often reddish color picture. Typical of Hagi ceramic is an incised notch at the base. There are mainly offered tea cups and teapots.
