Yamna Oubouhou

Yamna Oubouhou (temporarily Oubouhou - Belkacem, born February 20, 1974 in Morocco ) is a French long-distance runner.

Life

At age ten she came to France. In 1996 she was the third consecutive French U23 champion in the 1500 m and set two national U23 records over 5000 m. In the European Cross Country Championships in Charleroi they finished seventh and won the team gold.

In 1997 she arrived at the World Cross Country Championships in Turin to 62nd place. In the European Cross Country Championships in Oeiras, she was again Seventh and defended with the team the title. The following year, she won at the World Cross Country Championships in Marrakech on the long haul to the 41st place and finished sixth at the European Cross Country Championships in Ferrara.

It was at the 1999 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Maebashi fourth over 3000m and won at the World Cross Country Championships in Belfast on the short-haul silver and gold in the individual competition with the team. In the summer she worked with 15:04,85 min on a national record in the 5000m, she did better than eighth at the World Athletics Championships in Seville on 15:03,47 min.

In 2000, she was at the World Cross Country Championships in Vilamoura Eleventh on the short distance and won the team bronze. About 5000 m placed it on two other French records, but different at the Olympic Games in Sydney in the flow.

In the following season, it was at the World Cross Country Championships in Ostend Seventh on the long haul and took the team bronze. At the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton, she was eighth in the 10,000 m, and at the European Cross Country Championships in Thun European champion.

The divorce from her husband Henri Belkacem, a hurdler, and money problems subsequently led to depression, and in March 2003 she was admitted to the hospital after a suicide attempt of Meaux.

In 2004, she returned to the competition scene and arrived at the World Half Marathon Championships in New Delhi on the 29th place. In the European Cross Country Championships 2005 in Tilburg she wore with a 17th place in the bronze medal winning team.

In 2008, she finished second at the Cannes Half Marathon and Eleventh at the Paris Marathon and came at the World Half Marathon Championships in Rio de Janeiro on the 38th. In 2009, she finished fourth at the Paris Half Marathon and ran a ranked 55 in the marathon the World Athletics Championships in Berlin.

French Champion they have been submitted twice over 1500 meters ( 1999, 2000), once in the 10,000 m (2001), twice in cross country ( 2000, 2004 ) and once in the half marathon (2008). In the hall she took in 1999 over 3000 m the national title.
