The Yampa River is a 402 km long tributary of the Green River in the U.S. state of Colorado and is part of the river system of the Colorado River.

The Yampa River rises in northwestern Colorado in the Routt National Forest in southeast Garfield County and then flows northeast. In Steambot Springs he makes a turn and then flows to the west. Near the village of Milner joins the Elk River in the Yampa River. Thereafter, it flows through the Williams Fork Mountains. In Craig the Little Snake River flows after 241 kilometers in the river. Within the Dinosaur National Monument the Yampa River empties into the Green River.
