Yevgeniy Levkin

Yevgeny Vladimirovich Ljowkin ( Kazakh Евгений Владимирович Лёвкин, born October 14, 1992) is a Kazakhstani ski jumper.

Career

Ljowkin made ​​his international debut in September 2006 at the FIS Cup. After he scored only mediocre results in this series, he was a year later in Villach his debut in the FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup. On 17 February 2008, he missed the FIS Cup in Szczyrk fourth place just under the podium. In the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2008 in Zakopane, he jumped in a single of the normal hill on the 64th Place. After two disqualifications in the summer of 2008 in Velenje and Kranj in the Continental Cup, Ljowkin was restored to the FIS Cup. As of September 2008 in Lillehammer he belonged firmly to the squad in the Continental Cup.

January 9, 2009 in Sapporo Ljowkin won first points in the Continental Cup. On 17 January 2009, he got under the national group the opportunity to participate in the qualification for jumping in the Ski Jumping World Cup in Zakopane. He missed the competition in 48th qualifying. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 Junior Strbske Pleso he jumped on the normal hill on the 45th, with the team he reached the Štrbské Pleso ski jumps the 17th and penultimate rank. In the Nordic World Ski Championships Junior 2010 in Hinterzarten he jumped to 34th place on the normal hill. In team competition no Kazakh team approached. On 5 February 2010, he joined in Willingen again to qualify for the World Cup standings after a 53rd place he missed this, however. In the team competition, he reached the 11th place with the team. In the two Continental Cup competitions on his home hill in Almaty in September 2010 it reached only rear seats. In the following individual World Cup and in the Four Hills Tournament 2010/11 in Bischofshofen and Innsbruck he missed each of the qualifications clearly. Also at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo, he missed from the normal and the large hill the qualification, but reached with the team places 12 and 10 A short time later, he competed at the Asian Winter Games in 2011 in his native Almaty and won besides, gold on the normal hill in front of Kazuya Yoshioka and Radik Schaparow. In July and August 2011, he joined again in Ski Jumping Grand Prix, but was beaten in the first competition already in the qualification. Only in Hinterzarten Ljowkin succeeded after a 10th place in the team competition with a 30th place a points win. Also in Almaty, he won points, which put him at the end on the 78th place in the overall standings. In Continental, he was able to score again in Trondheim.

At the start of the World Cup season 2011/12 in Kuusamo Ljowkin different again in qualifying. In team World Cup, he reached the 11th place with the team. In the Continental Cup in Almaty Ljowkin reached a place in the top twenty for the first time. At the Four Hills Tournament 2011/12 he started again in the World Cup squad. He managed to qualify for the competition in Oberstdorf and Garmisch -Partenkirchen, and finished there in the competition each 49th. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2012 Junior - Turkish Erzurum Ljowkin jumped to 29th place in singles. Three days later he was in the squad for the Ski Flying World Championships 2012 in Vikersund where he finished 10th in the team competition with the team. After the ski flying World Cup, he started once again in the Continental Cup. He reached in Predazzo on the Trampolino dal Ben Place 42 before he again won a Continental Cup ski jump on the same point with the 30th place. In March 2012, he appeared in Trondheim, Oslo and in ski flying in Planica again of qualifications for the World Cup, but missed the competition passage in all jumping. On November 10, 2012 Ljowkin had together with Nikolai Karpenko and Alexei Ptschelinzew in Almaty a car accident. Levkin was doing life-threatening injured and admitted to the ICU of a hospital in Almaty. He received donated blood, implants in the cervical spine and had to be artificially ventilated. In early December, he again began to breathe and regained the feeling in the feet. He later redeemed herself in a hospital in Novosibirsk. As a result of his injuries Ljowkin had as well as his teammates, who were involved in the car accident, pause over the whole World Cup season 2012/13. Ljowkin hopes to train again from the summer of 2013.

The Kazakh Ski Ljowkin reported as Nordic combined at the International Ski Federation, but he played in this discipline before international competitions.
