Záhoří (Jindřichův Hradec District)

Záhoří ( German Zahorsch ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers south-east of Soběslav and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Záhoří is located in the headwaters of Doňovský creek in the hills on the edge of the Trebon Basin in South Bohemia. In the surroundings of the village are several ponds. In the south of the railway from Jindřichův Hradec goes according to Veseli nad Lužnicí, in the corridors of the station is Záhoří Donov.

Neighboring towns are Lzin in the north, Višňová in the east, in the southeast Pleše, Vřesná in the south, southwest, and Donov Újezdec in the west.

History

The first mention of Záhoří out in the first half of the 14th century. The town was founded in the 13th century originally belonged to the family of Neuhaus and arrived at a pitch to the Lords of Ústí. In the 15th and 16th centuries several times changed hands. Acquired 1511 Peter IV of Rosenberg Záhoří and paid in 1528 to the village of a debt to the city Soběslav.

Until 1672 Záhoří remained in the possession of the city Soběslav, then reached the place where the Schwarzenberg. 1735 Záhoří was sold along with Vřesná to Count Knefstein who joined the villages of his reign Kardašova Řečice. After the replacement of the Patrimonialherraschaften Záhoří 1848 an independent village.

In 1887 the construction of the railway. In Záhoří a train station, but was named the neighboring community Donov arose. In the 1950s, the incorporation to Kardašova Řečice was. After the Velvet Revolution, Záhoří broke off again and there was independent again.
