Žalobín

Žalobín (Hungarian Újszomotor - Zsalobina 1888-1902, 1873-1882 Zsalubina ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia.

The community Žalobín lies at the mouth of the olka in the Ondava, a few kilometers south of the Velka Domaša dam. The Ondavatal is about four miles wide and is surrounded by foothills of the mountain Ondauer country ( Ondavská Highlands ) flanked. The next largest cities are Vranov nad Topľou and Humenné.

By Žalobín the highway leads 554 ( Havaj - Oborín ). About the connection road to the neighboring village of Malá Domaša is connected to the trunk road 15 (other name: I/15 ) of Svidník to Vranov nad Topľou, as a portion of the transit route of south-eastern Poland to Hungary.

The place was first mentioned in 1451.

The population consists of about Žalobíns 94 % Slovak, 5% are Roma. Almost 97 % of the population are Roman Catholic Church.
