Zaur Kuramagomedov

Saur Ismatulajewitsch Kuramagomedow (Russian Заур Исматулаевич Курамагомедов; born March 30, 1988 in Tyrnyaus, Kabardino -Balkaria ) is a Russian wrestler. He won at the Olympics in London in 2012 a bronze medal in Greco-Roman featherweight

Career

Saur Kuramagomedow comes from the Russian republic of Kabardino -Balkaria. There he also began in 1999 with the rings. Meanwhile, the 1.70 meter tall athlete the sports club Dynamo Rostov -on-Don is a member of. He is a student and starts only in the Greco- Roman style. His coach is Yuri Lokejew.

Very successful Kuramagomedow was as a junior. He won in all international championships in which he participated. These were the European Championship ( Cadets ) in 2003 in Rostov -on-Don, the 2005 European Championships in Wroclaw, the 2006 European Championship in Szombathely and the World Cup 2006 in Guatemala City.

In 2007 Saur Kuramagomedow was first used in an international championship in the seniors and indeed at the European Championships in Sofia. He started in the bantamweight and was with wins over Thomas Rønningen, Norway, Venelin Wenkow, Bulgaria, Alexander Schalesny, Belarus and Wugar Ragimow, Ukraine and a defeat in the final against Rövşən Bayramov from Azerbaijan Vice-European Champion.

In 2008, he lost the final of the " Ivan Poddubny " tournament in Moscow and in the Russian bantamweight championship in the final battle against each Mankijew Nasir, who was therefore dispatched to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and there was also Olympic champion.

2010 occupied Saur Kuramagomedow in the Russian championship in the featherweight 3rd place behind Rustam Chatschbarow and Vyacheslav Dschaste. He was nevertheless used in this year, both at the European Championships in Baku, as well as at the World Championships in Moscow. In Baku, he triumphed over Svajunas Adomaitis, Lithuania, then lost to Konstantin Balizki from Ukraine and secured with victories over Matti Kettunen of Finland and Eusebiu Diaconu of Romania a bronze medal. In Moscow he won in his first fight on Wan Feihu from China, but was defeated in the very next fight against Omid Haji Noroozi from Iran, left and only came on the 15th Place.

At the World Championships 2011 in Istanbul, he then won his first World Championship medal. He won the featherweight Erik White from Germany, this victory with 2-1 rounds at 3-3 points was extremely scarce, and then lost again against Omid Haji Noroozi. As this became world champion, he was able to wrestle in the consolation round, where he still secured a bronze medal with wins over Konstantin Balizki, Sheng Jiang, China, and Jung Ji -hyun, South Korea.

2012, Saur Kuramagomedow before Ibragim Labasanow again Russian master and although this year were his results in international tournaments not outstanding, the Russian Wrestling Federation held the loyalty and sat him at the Olympic Games in London. There he won initially Tarek Aziz Benaissa from Algeria, but lost his next fight against Revaz Laschchi from Georgia. As this reached the final, he was able to wrestle in the consolation round and still ensure there with wins over Abdelmonem Sayed Sayed Hamed from Egypt and Hassan Aliyev of Azerbaijan, the Olympic bronze medal.
