Zbigniew Kiernikowski

Zbigniew Kiernikowski ( born July 2, 1946 in Szamarzewo, powiat Wrzesiński, Poland) is a bishop of Siedlce.

Life

The Auxiliary Bishop of Gniezno Jan Czerniak, ordained him on June 6, 1971 for the priest. From 1987 to 2002 he was rector of the Pontifical Polish college.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 28 March 2002 as Bishop of Siedlce. He received his episcopal consecration Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Sodano on 20 May of the same year in St. Peter's Basilica; Co-consecrators were Henryk Muszyński, Archbishop of Gniezno, and Jan Mazur, Bishop Emeritus of Siedlce. His motto is Posłuszeństwo Ewangelii - Eucharystia.
