Žilina (Kladno District)

Žilina ( German Schillin ) is a municipality with 755 inhabitants ( 2006) in the Czech Republic. It is located eleven kilometers southwest of Kladno and belongs to Okres Kladno. The community area is 786 ha

Geography

The village is at the junction of Forest Pürglitzer to Kladno coal basin in 394 m above sea level. M. Northeast runs the route of the highway R 6 / Europe 48 road between Nové Strašecí and Kladno.

Neighboring towns are Tuchlovice and Kamenné Žehrovice in the north, Doksy in the northeast, Družec in the east, Dolni Bezděkov the southeast, Lhota in the south, Ploskov and Novy Dvur in the west and Lany in the northwest.

History

Žilina came about in the mid-12th century, the first written document about the place and the church comes from a pontifical tithe list of 1352nd On May 7, 1353, King Charles IV gave the photo associated with the Pürglitzer Lehendorf together with Krupá, Bratronice and Olešná the Mansionaren the Church of Sts. Vitus at Prague Castle. After the Hussite Wars, the village was dropped to the Bohemian crown. Ferdinand I left the village in 1552 to Jan Bořita Martinic. From this time on, the place belonged to the basic rule Smečno. 1634 burned the Swedes on the way to Prague the village to the ground. Between 1770 and 1771 a new church was built.

After the replacement of patrimonial Žilina in 1850 became an independent municipality, which was assigned to the judicial district Neustraschitz and the political district of snakes.

After the dissolution of Okres Slany Žilina came in 1949 to Okres Nové Strašecí, which existed until 1960, and since then is one to Okres Kladno. 1980, the southern neighbor Lhota was incorporated, in 1990 again became independent.
