Zwiesel (mountain)

Zwiesel is a mountain north west of Bad Reichenhall and the highest peak of the massif Staufen.

It has a height of 1782 m. Together with Gamsknogel (1750 m) and Zennokopf (1756 m ), he is also known as Hinterstaufen (see Fuderheuberg - Front baptisms ).

Several marked paths lead from Inzell ( Adlgaß ), Weissbach ( Jochberg ) and Bad Reichenhall ( Listsee ) to the summit. For Hochstaufen a crossing over the middle baptisms (challenging to difficult ) or via the Barthlmahd is possible.

On the way from Jochberg / Listsee is located at 1400 m Zwieselalm with the Kaiser- Wilhelm - house (accommodation ).

Since the Zwieselalm is accessible only by foot, it is supplied throughout the summer by the army with food. The supply unit is the last beast of Company of the Bundeswehr.
