( 1009) Siren is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on October 31 in 1923 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth, who worked at the observatory on the King chair at Heidelberg.

The asteroid is named after the mythological figures of sirens.
