( 1088) Mitaka is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on November 17, 1927 in Tokyo by Japanese astronomers Okuro Oikawa.

The asteroid was named after the Japanese city of Mitaka in which there is the astronomical observatory of Tokyo.
