110393 Rammstein is an asteroid ( officially: a minor planet ), which was discovered by space explorers Jean -Claude Merlin in the observatory Le Creusot. The minor planet was named after the German, internationally successful band Rammstein. Merlin justified his choice by saying that Rammstein " play all over the world spectacular live shows."
The US-based Minor Planet Center (MPC ), which is responsible for the confirmation of a space body as a " dwarf planet " and for the naming, officially confirmed the entry and the name on 23 February 2006.
