( 12368 ) Mutsaers is an asteroid of the inner main belt, which was discovered on 7 February 1994 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile ( IAU code 809). Unconfirmed sightings of the asteroid, there had been before: on April 1, 1976 ( 1976 GK) at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj and in July 1991 at La Silla Observatory (1991 NU7 ).

The asteroid was named after the Dutch painter and author Charlotte Mutsaers on 9 March 2001. The proposal for the designation came from EW Elsts Uncle J. Geerts.
