( 1322) Copernicus is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 15 June 1934 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth at Heidelberg State Observatory king - chair of the University of Heidelberg.
The name is derived from the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. It was voted the favorite of his biographers Leopold Prowe notation.
