14 Herculis c

14 Herculis c after 14 Herculis b of the second extrasolar planet orbiting the main sequence star orbiting 14 Herculis. Due to its high mass is assumed that it is a gas planet.

Discovery

In the measurements of the radial velocity of 14 Herculis 14 Herculis already had been found b, the data showed a second, more distant massive celestial body towards what has been published by Krzysztof Goždziewski 2006. In a later publication, the same author places the that for a long-term stable system an orbital resonance is assumed between the two planets. Under the assumption of identical orbital planes a possible position of 14 Herculis c at a distance of 6.9 AU is seen at a period of about 6900 days (1:4 resonance ), Goździewski holds an orbit at 9 AU for the most stable. The planet has a mass at least twice as large as Jupiter.
