( 15766 ) Strahlenberg is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on January 22, 1993 by Eric Walter Elst at the European Southern Observatory.

It was named in honor of the Swedish officer and geographer Philip Johan von Strahlenberg that of Tobolsk from exploring the geography and nature of Siberia 1711-1721.
