1925 German football championship

The eighteenth German football championship first saw a reform of the final mode since the 1905/ 06 season. The German Football Association decided that each regional association was allowed to send two participants to the final now. The largest membership organizations, the South German Football Federation and the West German game association, were even allowed to ask three participants.

The 1st FC Nuremberg won his fourth championship title in the final against FSV Frankfurt and thus became the sole record title holder.

In Westdeutsche Spielverband there was the " new way " just in his second season. This meant that, as two years ago, was no West German championship this year. To determine the finalist by the WSV could again play a qualifying round, were allowed to participate in the current table leaders of the district leagues. The winner was the Duisburg SpV, which is therefore often performed incorrectly this year as West German champion.

More German football champions this year were the Dresden SV 1910 who successfully defended his title ATSB, and the MTV Fuerth, who won after the clean separation between gymnastics and sport inaugural German football championship of the German Gymnastics.
