1935 Balkan Cup

The 6th Balkan Cup was a competition for national football teams of countries from the Balkan region. The games were held in June 1935 for the second time in the history of competition after 1931 in Bulgaria's capital Sofia instead. Addition to the host took as in the previous editions again Greece, Yugoslavia and Romania in the tournament. Each team played in group mode once against each other. In the end, defending champion of Yugoslavia and the Bulgarians were tied at the top. Because of the better goals average ( goals scored divided by goals against) of 2.75 compared with 2.4 won Yugoslavia and moved with his second Balkan Cup victory equal with the previous sole record champions Romania and Bulgaria. Also in the decision for third place had to decide the goals average, which take precedence over the Romanians granted the Greeks, who occupied the last place for the first time in tournament history. Top scorer was the Bulgarian Angulov ( five goals ).
